June Age Group Champs meet is now ready for you to decline or enter your preferences. We wiill be sending team entries in shortly after May 20th. However, athletes may still qualify for events at the BCA Jun 6/7 meet.
SELECTING EVENTS
Parents, We are getting an increasing number of emails/texts providing preferences for swim meets. I just want to review the process, so that we are all using our time efficiently. In our weekly email, we let you know the upcoming meets and deadlines. You can also see them under the Events Tab on our website.
1. We set up events so you can save the date. The tagline will read "SAVE THE DATE"
2. When the meet information becomes available, we download it and do our work to prepare the meet for sign ups.
- ALL competitive groups are automatically declared for Committee Meets.
- Both Conditioning and Competitive are declared for our Home Block Party Meets.
3. When the event is ready for sign ups, we will change the tagline to "Select Preferences or Decline by (DATE)"
- Please decline if you can not attend.
- Indicate preferred sessions if you can only attend specific days.
- Indicate preferred events
- Input any notes.
4. Once the deadline has passed, coaches will review and make final event entries. Entries will be emailed to parents. You will have 24-48 hours to review the entries and communicate (via email) any questions or concerns. Tagline: Review Entries by (Date)
5. We then email the event file to the meet admin and at this point, we will not be making any event or participating changes, except to scratch. You will still be charged for the meet. (Home Block Parties are the exception. We only charge for athletes who attend.) Tagline: Entries are Closed
I also want to remind you all that while we are happy to review parent's preferences, the events that the athletes are entered into are purposeful and based upon what they are working on in practice. Coach always has the final say in the events. Sometimes athletes may be nervous about doing certain events, but that does not mean they are not ready.. Please be encouraging and let them know that if they are concerned they should speak to their coach. Please help support us in developing open doors of communication between coach and athlete.
